The Farm Michela Ricci is located in the municipality of Bucine, in the valley of the river Caposelvi, easily accessible from the SR69 near the village of Levane. The position falls almost in the middle of a triangle formed by the cities of Florence, Arezzo and Siena.
Ours is a family owned company that was established under that name in 1996, and brings with it the experience of three generations of the family that bought in the early 60s an important farm consists of vineyards, crops and forests. Over time, the ownership and land use has evolved and today the company covers approximately 16 hectares. The vineyards cover 10 hectares, planted with Sangiovese, Canaiolo, Ciliegiolo Rondinaie (*), Trebbiano, Malvasia white and black. The vineyard is made up of current systems cordon mainly dating back to 1999/2000, and a small portion of about two hectares of recently planted, consisting of vine Rondinaie (*). The vineyards have a good exposure to the sun and have an average elevation of 200 meters above sea level.
The Farm mainly produces Chianti DOCG, with a production of about 55-60 hl of wine per hectare. The grape harvest is an accurate and careful manual selection of the grapes, which controls the degree of ripeness. The vinification takes place in stainless steel tanks.
Recently, the Company has given rise to two major projects, inter-related. The bottling at the origin of different labels and the realization of the new winery, a modern structure that allows you to make wine, mature and refine a quality product, respecting the tradition that is the underlying theme of each workmanship of the Farm.
(*) the vine called provisionally Rondinaie is currently being studied in order to identify the genetic composition. This variety derives from a native strain is not due to known grape varieties, already present with vines mother in the middle of 1900s. These screws have been partly dismantled in the years 70 and 80, due to poor performance in terms of quantity (about 35 hl per hectare), and have recently been replanted with new cuttings and ungrafted (in 2004 ) and with American rootstock (new vineyard in 2008, 2012 and 2015)
