Tenuta di Frassineto

The TENUTA DI FRASSINETO has planted out 30 hectares of vineyards in the province of Arezzo, in the centre of the Val di Chiana, with the aim of producing wines of the very highest calibre and valorising a territory that up to now has not expressed its real value.
More specifically, 18 hectares of the vineyards of the Tenuta di Frassineto are devoted to the
growing of white grapes (Semillon, Chardonnay, Sauvignon, Traminer, Pinot Bianco and Vermentino) and 12 hectares to red grapes (Merlot, Cabernet Franc and Petit Verdot).
The decision to plant out these varieties was taken after years of careful study of the soil
and climate characteristics of the territory.
The vineyards are situated at an altitude of 250 metres above sea level, and have spread their roots in a silty-clay loam with a fairly significant rocky component.
These characteristics have focused the choice on varieties that express themselves at their best in these conditions: chardonnay as the base for producing top quality spumante metodo classico;
vermentino, semillon and traminer for the production of aromatic whites with distinctive
mineral tones and structure; merlot, cabernet franc and petit verdot for the production of
excellent reds, with a view to identifying and valorising a terroir with an exceptional
winegrowing vocation.
In effect, the corporate philosophy gravitates entirely around quality, regulating the production of grapes per plant every year through the thinning out of the buds in springtime and of the bunches with the approach of the harvest.
The cellar of the Tenuta di Frassineto is equipe with cutting-edge equipment designed to enhance the extraordinary varietal and aromatic potential that these grapes express.
