Francesca began working in agriculture since 2005 and since then he began to design an activity that combines the passion for good wine, the love for nature and respect for the consumer.
From this idea in 2015 Podere Ortica was born, a farm that wants to satisfy the wealth of our territory by producing wine without additions.
He says Francesca: “ Podere Ortica is a young project, but I realize that the “symbiosis” between winemaker and vineyard is the extra something that I have to treat my best grapes, Consequently, to give expression to my wines.
Each year they add important pieces, small adjustments due to local knowledge that aumenta.“
The idea is to produce a wine “used to be”, but with today’s devices (Health in grapes and cleaning in the transformation).
He says Francesca; “ My job is very simple protocol: I collect the grapes manually by selecting the most appropriate, diraspo, I put in the tank (concrete or steel). I usually make short maceration to limit extractions and facilitate the drink in wine. During maceration do comebacks. I make a few racking, only those needed to “clean up” the wine. For clarification I trust winter cold. Without filtering bottled in summer. At grapes and wine add when needed small amounts of metabisulfite potassio.“
